Poetry: plight
plight
there were 5 of us there on that long, lonely night
but one of us seemingly wanted a fight
so you casually started your picking on me
and i found it to be a bit much, For you see:
i ignored it, abhorred it then started to see
that the one who was fighting was actually me
it was i, you were right who had wanted to fight
well i’m shutting you down i say have a good night
alright ?

Poetry: A Pair of Troopers
shotgun fire so i shroud my fear
in comforting the dog who’s cowering
my whispers like motherly words,
as of the warmth as of the womb
as of the silent blanket drawn
over us and under the moon
protecting our heart from the inside out
a world so far away, so very still, so very near
the all too unfamiliar feeling of ghosts now passed
coercing a future into ghastly ferocity
and as you’re freely falling one wonders
when and whether one should pull the rip cord or not
and as time trickles past, you’re reminded
of the very reason that we’re here…
so we would know that
we weren’t alone

Poetry: at least for today
at least for today
every fragmented memory like a lifetime ago
and i sit in wonder was it even me
as this moment now is all that i know
and i wrote a song the other day… so at least this i know,
that i took some time to play and i recorded it so
i would remember that this was me someday
and as i sit here simply letting this lovely song play
I’m reminded of a purpose that seems, more or less still
and yet so far away
and i feel no more of the dismay.
well, at least not for today anyway

Poetry: a transitional moment
- A poem about anxiety, a way out, and living for the moment…
‘a transitional moment’
Poetry: from here to there
An allusion to distance while depth is elusive
While you’re living inside, they’ll be plenty obtrusive
Is it hard to give life, an abyss, any meaning?
Of the precipice here, on the edge where I’m leaning
Is it all torn apart, inner mind cataclysm?
Do we place it on faith or intellectual schism
As created by man, laid to waste by his hand? Continue reading

Neal Visher – until we meet again

In whirlwinds of feelings, does happiness elude
The emptiness of hopelessness; I twist, I turn, I brood
But is existence futile, with nothing there to see?
The hands of time arrested while they cut you viscerally
Do gifts appear as water dancing on deserted sands Continue reading
